Get to know Jocelyn

Jocelyn Sheltraw is the Co-Founder and CEO of Budist. She is a recognized cannabis entrepreneur, activist, public speaker and thought leader in North America. Prior to Budist, she spent 5 years as the Head of Industry Relations at Headset, the leading data and analytics company for cannabis operators. She was responsible for internal and external strategies to build brand awareness, community development, and market expansion. By the end of her tenure she helped expand the company into 11 markets, and built Headset into a known and trusted brand. 

Jocelyn has been active in cannabis policy and regulation, working with 11 state associations and serving on the Board of Directors of the California Cannabis Industry Association from 2021 – 2023. At the heart of Jocelyn’s work is a focus on community development, hosting industry-leading events and building a following of nearly 30k people across LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. She’s received numerous industry awards & recognitions, is 1 of 300 certified Ganjiets worldwide, and was recently nominated by Global Cannabis Times as one of the ‘100 Most Influential People’. 

Prior to cannabis, Jocelyn participated in the birth of the mobile app market, spending 10 years working with app developers on their advertising and customer acquisition strategies. She focused on both the agency and AdTech sides of the industry, working with dozens of large scale apps including Flipboard, Spotify, SoundCloud, Pandora, and Uber, to name just a few.
